Karen Joy Brown is a Gateless Writing certified teacher who believes in the transformative power of music and the written word.
She's performed solo all around Northern California and played at the Kate Wolf Festival, Sweetwater Music Hall, and opened for greats like Ruthie Foster with the three-part harmony Americana band, The Bootleg Honeys.
A multi-faceted creative, she recently released a poetry eChapbook, and is currently writing a memoir about leaving teaching and learning to trust her own perception of what makes life worth living.
She hosts the Supernova Support podcast and program for women songwriters with former bandmate Katie Phillips exploring the dynamic connection between songwriting and wellness recovery work.
